Step 5: Common Application Settings

Common application settings contain various criteria to control processing for all Spreadsheet Server users. This article describes how to configure these settings.

  1. From the Application Configurator panel, select the Application Settings tab. The Application Settings panel appears.
  2. Use the following table to enter data in the Common panel:

    Apply

    If selected, the associated setting value is applied to the user's settings the next time they sign into Spreadsheet Server.

    General Ledger Type

    Click the drop-down list, and, select the General Ledger type to be assigned to all users.

    Segment Lists Folder

    Type the path, or, use the Browse button, to select the shared location of the segment lists database and segment mapping objects.

    Proxy Server

    If selected, the proxy server settings are used for connecting to the internet. When this option is selected, additional options are enabled.

    Address/Port/User Name/Password/Confirm Password

    If the Proxy Server option is selected, specify the IP address, port number, user ID, and password to be used for connecting to the internet.

    Timeout

    If the Proxy Server option is selected, specify the length of time (in seconds) allowed for the system to send and receive web requests.

  4. Use the following table to enter data in the Common > @ Fields panel:

    General Ledger Type

    Click the drop-down list, and, select the General Ledger type for which to load account segments, category codes (JD Edwards only), and/or user fields (Infinium only).

    Note: BPCS and Oracle ledgers load sample segments as the actual segments, and vary based on the chart or ledger used. These preloaded values may be modified as necessary. No autoload feature exists for Data Warehouse, Designer GL, and SAP ledgers.

    @ Fields List: (no label)

    Displays a list of existing @ fields. To:

    • Preload account segments, category codes and/or user fields: select the appropriate General Ledger Type, and click the Load button.
    • Add an @ field: type the alias, description, and field name.
    • Change an @ field: type over the value(s) be modified.
    • Delete @ fields: select the @ fields to be removed, right-click then select Delete.

    Alias

    Specify the user-friendly name to be used to reference the field.

    Description

    Specify the description of the field.

    Name

    Specify the actual field name of the field in the database. If necessary, enter the table and field name (syntax: table.field).

    Button

    Function

    Load

    Loads the appropriate account segments, category codes, and/or user fields based on the selected ledger, to the grid.

  6. Click Save, then Yes, to push the changes to the network location.

  • Note: No autoload feature exists for Data Warehouse, Designer GL, and SAP ledgers.
