BPCS 6.04+ Ledger Specifics

If selected, Spreadsheet Server retrieves GL balances from the preloaded local PC database. Otherwise, the system retrieves balances from the host General Ledger system.

If Retrieve Account Balances and Descriptions for Preloaded Local PC Database and this option are selected, the user can work while disconnected from the host system, and is unable to drill down to journal entry detail.

Click the drop-down list and select the BPCS chart of accounts from which to retrieve data.

Specify the number of segments in the account structure (Company, Division, etc.) to be displayed in Spreadsheet Server.

Specify the title of each account segment in the account structure. These default to the titles based in the chart of accounts selected, but may be changed if desired.

If selected, the GXL formula includes opening balances when calculating the YTD format.

If selected, Analysis Data fields are populated when expanding the GXE formula in journals. If selected, response time varies based on the size of the journal detail file in the host system.

If selected, the List Accounts function excludes inactive accounts.

Click the drop-down list, and select the type of journal entries to display in the Journal Entry Drill Down panel. Valid values are:

• Posted Entries Only
• Unposted Entries Only
• Both Posted and Unposted

Specify the button label to appear in the Spreadsheet Server Ribbon > Build a Template > General Ledger menu, to identify the ledger for building a GXL formula.

Specify the tool tip to display for the associated QuickText item.

Displays the Load Local PC Database panel, allowing the user to download account balances to a local database, in order to optimize calculation speeds (see BPCS Load Local Data for more information).

Clears the current segment descriptions, retrieves them based on the selected chart of accounts, then refreshes the list of available chart of accounts.
