Formula Builder GXL Using Insert Column Data Only
The following example demonstrates using the Insert Column Data Only option when processing a GXL
formula with a new template. This option is used to insert multiple columns in a single worksheet and is only available when creating a new GXL
formula in Formula Builder. If the tool is launched from an active cell, the cell must not contain Spreadsheet Server formulas.
- In an open worksheet in Excel, from the Spreadsheet Server Ribbon, click the Formula Builder button. The Formula Builder panel appears. Select GXL.
- Type the appropriate ledger parameters and account segment data.
- Click the Insert and Shift button. The template is generated, but the panel remains open, the Period and Starting Cell values are incremented, and the Insert Column Data Only check box is selected.
- Type any necessary changes in the ledger parameters.
- Click the Insert and Shift button. The column data and
GXL
formula are added to the template, and the Period and Starting Cell values are incremented. - Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all desired columns are added.
- Click the Close button to close the panel.
