Infinium Sign In

Follow the below steps to start the add-in component of Spreadsheet Server for Infinium ledgers.

Note:
  • If a user's Spreadsheet Server Settings are set to start Spreadsheet Server during Excel startup, step 2 is not applicable.
  • If unattended (auto) sign in is enabled, steps 3 and 4 are not applicable.
  1. Open Excel.
  2. In Excel, from the Spreadsheet Server Ribbon, select Disabled (or, click the down arrow under the Disabled button, and click Enable). The Sign On to Spreadsheet Server dialog box appears.
  3. Two methods are available for signing into Spreadsheet Server:
  4. Pre-defined Connection User Name

In the Sign On to Spreadsheet Server dialog box, specify the following fields:

    • Host Name or IP Address: the iSeries system name or IP address that hosts the database.
    • Database Library: the name of library or catalog containing the GL data.
    • User Name: defaults to the user name assigned to the user in Application Configurator.
    • Password: required only if a password was created for the user in Application Configurator.
    • Retrieve account balances from local database: optionally, select the check box if desired (see step 4 for more information).

    <Sign-On>

In the Sign On to Spreadsheet Server dialog box, specify the following fields:

    • Host Name or IP Address: the iSeries system name or IP address that hosts the database.
    • Database Library: the name of library or catalog containing the GL data.
    • User Name: the iSeries user name.
    • Password: the iSeries password.
    • Retrieve account balances from local database: optionally, select the check box if desired (see step 4 for more information).
  5. If the Retrieve account balances from local database option is selected, click More, and specify the following:
    • Local Database Type: indicates the database type and connection, or database path.
    • Work in Local Mode without a connection
    • Note: If working without a connection, the user only has access to account balances in the local database file. As a result, drill downs to journals, GXEs to journals, GXDs, and list accounts will not be functional. Additionally, Infinium security is not utilized; however, the system continues to verify the user is a valid Spreadsheet Server user, therefore this user must have Application Configurator installed on their machine.

  6. Click OK.

See Sign In, Control Panel, Disable or Enable Formula Calculations, and Reset Host Server Connection for more information.
