JD Edwards Sign In
Follow the below steps to start the add-in component of Spreadsheet Server for JD Edwards ledgers.
Note: If a user's Product Settings are set to start during Excel startup, step 2 is not applicable. If unattended (auto) sign in is enabled, steps 3 and 4 are not applicable.
- Open Excel.
- In Excel, from the Spreadsheet Server Ribbon, select Disabled (or, click the down arrow under the Disabled button, and click Enable). The JD Edwards Login dialog box appears.
- Two methods are available for signing into Spreadsheet Server:
- User ID: defaults to the user name assigned to the user in Application Configurator.
- Password: required only if a password was created for the user in Application Configurator.
- Retrieve account balances from local database: optionally, select the check box if desired (see step 4 for more information).
- User ID - the standard database user name.
- Password - the standard database password.
- Retrieve account balances from local database: optionally, select the check box if desired (see step 4 for more information).
- If the Retrieve account balances from local database option is selected, click More, and specify the following:
- Local Database Type: indicates the database type and connection, or database path.
- Work in Local Mode without a connection
- Click OK.

In the JD Edwards Login: dialog box, specify the following fields:

Note:
If working without a connection, the user only has access to account balances in the local database file. As a result, drill downs to journals, GXE
s to journals, GXD
s, and list accounts will not be functional. Additionally, JD Edwards security is not utilized; however, the system continues to verify the user is a valid Spreadsheet Server user, therefore this user must have Application Configurator installed on their machine.
