Oracle Sign In

Follow the below steps to start the add-in component of Spreadsheet Server for Oracle ledgers:

Note:
  • If a user's Spreadsheet Server Settings are set to start Spreadsheet Server during Excel startup, step 2 is not applicable.
  • If unattended (auto) sign in is enabled, steps 3 through 6 are not applicable.
  1. Open Excel.
  2. In Excel, from the Spreadsheet Server Ribbon, select Disabled (or, click the down arrow under the Disabled button, and click Enable). The Login dialog box appears.
  3. Two methods are available for signing into Spreadsheet Server:
  4. Direct Connect

    In the Login: dialog box, specify the following fields:

    • Select the Direct check box.
    • Host: the system name or IP address that hosts the database.
    • Service: retrieves the Oracle Service Name from Application Configurator, indicating where the database is located.
    • Port: retrieves the port number assigned to the service in Application Configurator.
    • User Name: defaults to the user name assigned to the user in Application Configurator.
    • Password: required only if a password was created for the user in Application Configurator.

    Oracle Client

    In the Login: dialog box, specify the following fields:

    • Oracle Service Name - the Oracle Service Name configured in Oracle Net Manager.
    • User Name: defaults to the user name assigned to the user in Application Configurator.
    • Password: required only if a password was created for the user in Application Configurator.
  5. Click Login. The Oracle Default Responsibility panel appears, displaying the previously-selected responsibility.
  6. Click on the drop-down list to select a different responsibility.
  7. Click Continue.
